BRYAN, Texas — The Brazos Valley Fair and Rodeo returns to Bryan this weekend for its 15th run, opening Friday afternoon at the Brazos County Expo Complex on Leonard Road and wrapping up Sunday.

Gates open at 4 p.m. Friday. The rodeo itself is the finals of the United Professional Rodeo Association, with evening shows starting at 6:30 on both Friday and Saturday, plus a Sunday afternoon matinee at 2:30. Fans can expect bull riding, barrel racing, bareback and saddle bronc riding, roping events and mutton bustin’ for the youngest riders.

Each night also has a country concert. Randall King takes the stage Friday, the Randy Rogers Band plays Saturday and Garrett Talamantes closes things out Sunday.

Pricing changed this year. A $10 gate ticket for anyone 11 or older covers the fairgrounds, vendors, livestock shows, the AgLand learning area and the concert, while kids 10 and younger get in free. A rodeo ticket costs $30 for ages 11 and up or $20 for younger children and includes gate entry. Carnival rides are paid for separately, either online or at the midway.

Families will also find pony rides, baby animal pens with chicks, goats, pigs and horses, and corn boxes for small children. The fair is one of the biggest draws on a busy weekend for Bryan and College Station, which also has Halloween events, a haunted trail and a trunk-or-treat night on the calendar. Tickets are sold at BrazosValleyFair.com.

The grounds also feature a Western World area and an AgLand classroom, along with a fairway full of games and vendor booths for shoppers between rodeo performances.
