LAS VEGAS — Arman Tsarukyan needed barely more than a minute Friday night to settle his feud with Dillon Danis on the mat, scoring a 10-0 technical fall in the first period to claim the first Real American Freestyle middleweight crossover championship at RAF 14.
The UFC lightweight contender got on the board early by driving Danis out of bounds and kept piling up points until the referee stopped it at about the 80-second mark. The main event at Fontainebleau Las Vegas came one day after the pre-event press conference broke down into a brawl, with Tsarukyan swinging at Danis.
Tensions flared briefly again after the finish, but the two shook hands. Tsarukyan said afterward the rivalry would continue only if Danis wants to meet him in mixed martial arts. Danis is now 0-3 in the promotion, having also lost to Khamzat Chimaev.
Chimaev stayed perfect in RAF in the co-main event, dominating former UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler by an 11-0 technical fall in Lawler RAF debut.
Lucia Yepez edged Sarah Hildebrandt 8-7 to win the strawweight title, Ridge Lovett took the lightweight belt with a 13-2 technical fall over Jordan Oliver, and Michael Caliendo upset Olympic champion Jordan Burroughs on points. Sebastian Rivera beat Vito Arujau on criteria after an 11-11 tie.
