On a recent Tuesday, the Bryan City Council dismissed all four proposals for the operation of Travis Field, including one submitted by the Bombers. Consequently, the city will manage the baseball facility internally and seek partnerships, which may include rental agreements with the Bombers for the upcoming season. Presently, the current agreement with the Bombers is set to expire on December 31, 2025.
Bombers’ owner Uri Geva stated that the relocation decision primarily centers around the necessity for stability and long-term sustainability of the franchise rather than preference for one city over another. He underlined appreciation for the City of Bryan’s support over nearly two decades, reiterating the Bombers’ commitment to the Brazos Valley community.
Looking ahead, the planned facilities in College Station’s Veterans Park will include a variety of modern features such as home and visiting team clubhouses, batting and pitching practice buildings, a press box, a video board, and seating capacity for 2,000 spectators.
