The first half of the game told a completely different story. Weiss started strong, and it seemed like they were set to pull an upset against the top 10-ranked Cougars. They jumped out to an impressive 17-0 lead early in the game, showcasing their hustle with a fantastic 4-yard TD run from Nicholas Johnson, a 47-yard field goal from James Buchanan, and a jaw-dropping 72-yard touchdown pass from Jaxon Schad to Adrian Wilson. As the half progressed, both teams traded touchdowns, with College Station responding through rushing touchdowns from Aydan Martinez-Brown and Wilson Stapp. Weiss continued to impress with a 62-yard touchdown pass from Daniel Berry to Willson and a 42-yard rushing touchdown from Braiden Wooley. Weiss added a late score in the final minute, but it was too little, too late.
