PopStroke: A Fresh Addition to Aggieland’s Entertainment Scene

Overview of the New Attraction

PopStroke, a unique mini-golf venue, has become the latest addition to the vibrant Northgate neighborhood in Aggieland. In a town renowned for its nightlife, PopStroke offers a fresh take on entertainment, appealing to people of all ages and skills. Amid the rapid development sweeping across Bryan-College Station, PopStroke seeks to stand out from the crowd with its innovative approach and commitment to community entertainment.

The Technological Edge

Gage Plentovich, the General Manager of PopStroke, stated that the venue capitalizes on technology to enhance the customer experience. “We bring technology to the next level. When people come in, we ask for their phone number and create their own tab – they can scan any of the QR codes on the tables or even on the courses. When they scan that and put the order in, we bring the order to them while they are playing,” Plentovich said.

PopStroke also boasts two well-differentiated eighteen-hole courses. The white course is traditional terrain friendly, conducive for families with strollers while the maroon course, with plenty of hills, provides an exciting challenge to players.

Community Reaction

Executive producer for KBTX, Rusty Surette, expressed his excitement over PopStroke’s opening, emphasizing the need for more versatile entertainment options. “We have so much for college students – which are expected in a college town, but I think anytime you get something like this that everyone can enjoy, it’s a win-win for everyone. I think it’s just a terrific addition,” Surette said.

General Engineering junior Lola Shmeis spoke about the adjustment phase within the neighborhood, citing issues of noise that were resolved efficiently by PopStroke management.

Looking to the Future

According to Surette, the residents of the Northgate community can expect more developments in the near future. “PopStroke is just one piece of the development that is planned along the Century Square. There are new things that are planned across the street, where Hurricane Harry’s is. The neighborhood across Hensel Park — the city has plans to develop that area as well” Surette said.

From the perspective of the community’s youngest members, Business Management sophomore Lucas Collins regarded PopStroke as an exciting social hub. He said, “You can get food. You can get a drink here while you are moving around. I would say it’s more family-oriented — just connecting with people. I would say this is probably the best one I’ve been.”

More Than Just Golf

The General Manager, Gage Plentovich, highlighted the vibrant ambiance and versatility that PopStroke offers. Not just about golf courses, PopStroke hosts special promotions throughout the week and plans to hold food truck events for football games. They’ve already had productive events with local sororities, as PopStroke continually works to diversify its offerings and provide maximum enjoyment for the community.

To sum it up, PopStroke promises to enhance Aggieland’s entertainment scene by providing a unique blend of fun, food, and camaraderie with an exciting twist of technology.
