Remembering Marijane Frances Kristof: A Life Full of Love and Service

It’s with heavy hearts that the community of Bryan, Texas, bids farewell to a cherished member, Marijane Frances Kristof, who passed away on January 19, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on August 19, 1945, to proud parents John and Lillie Quitta See, Marijane made a significant impact on everyone who was fortunate enough to know her.

From Humble Beginnings

Marijane was raised in nearby Snook, Texas, where she spent her childhood helping out with everyday chores alongside her parents and her five siblings. Life on a farm instilled strong values in her and shaped her into the compassionate individual that she became.

A Bright Student

During her school years, Marijane was more than just an average student. She attended Snook Elementary and later the Snook High School, where she graduated in 1963. Her high school days were filled with accomplishments as she held various offices, including treasurer and corresponding secretary. She was the class reporter and historian too! Honor roll was no stranger to her, as she maintained that status for all four years. Marijane was also actively involved in the Future Homemakers of America (FHA) for four years, contributing to her development as a leader.

Continuing Her Education

Seeking to broaden her horizons, Marijane furthered her education at Sam Houston State University and later attended business school in Houston. The skills she gained there paved the way for her to work in notable positions, such as at BLD, which was involved in cotton purchasing, and at the Forest Science Department of Texas A&M University when she returned to her hometown of Bryan.

Love and Family

On a beautiful day in April 1966, Marijane married the love of her life, Jay William Kristof, at the Snook Brethren Church. Together they built a loving family. They began their journey in Snook and later settled in Bryan, eventually moving to Angleton in 1978. Their marriage spanned an incredible 58 years, filled with love and support for each other.

Health Challenges and Final Days

Unfortunately, like all of us, Marijane faced some health challenges. In August 2023, she moved to the Bryan Legacy Nursing & Rehabilitation Home due to her declining health. Despite the hardships, she was surrounded by the love of her family and friends until her passing.

Her Legacy Lives On

Marijane is deeply missed by her loving husband, Jay, and her eldest daughter, Terri Lynn Kristof Rubio, along with her son-in-law, John David Richardson. She was also a proud grandmother to four grandchildren: Amanda Wehring, Rebecca Wratten and her husband Dustin, Corinna Richardson and her husband Dylan, and Andrew Rubio, along with a loving grandmother to seven great-grandchildren.

Besides her immediate family, Marijane is survived by her brothers, sisters, and various in-laws, all of whom carry her memory and spirit forward.

A Celebration of Life

To honor Marijane’s remarkable life, a Celebration of Life service is planned for Saturday, **February 8, 2025,** at 11:00 a.m. The service will be held at the Snook Brethren Church in Snook, Texas, where friends, family, and community members can come together to celebrate her life and the love she shared.

Marijane Kristof’s journey may have come to an end, but her loving spirit will undoubtedly carry on in the hearts of everyone she touched. She will always be remembered for her dedication to family, her active role in the community, and the joy she brought into the lives of many.
