Get Ready for a Spooktacular Weekend in Bryan and College Station!
As Halloween approaches, the cities of Bryan and College Station are gearing up for a weekend full of festive fun! From trunk-or-treat events to ghost hunting adventures, there’s something for everyone in the family to enjoy. So grab your costumes and let’s dive into this weekend’s spooky shenanigans!
Trunk or Treats, Costumes, and Carnival Fun!
It all kicks off on Saturday with the seventh annual Trunk or Treat So Kids Can Eat event taking place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Bryan High School parking lot. The best part? Admission is only five canned goods per person, which will be donated to the Brazos Valley Food Bank! This family-friendly event features trunk-or-treating, inflatables, train rides, face painting, photo booths, and a whole lot more! It’s a great way to give back while having a fantastic time.
Later in the day, if you have little ones aged five and under, check out the Little Kids Spooky Carnival at the Clara B. Mounce Public Library from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.. This free event is packed with adorable carnival games and dress-up play is definitely encouraged!
On Sunday, head over to downtown Bryan for the fifth annual Halloweentown from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.. This is another free and family-friendly event where kids can enjoy trick-or-treating, a costume contest, and even a dance floor just for them! The winners of the kids’ costume contest will be announced at 5:30 p.m.. Don’t worry about parking; free street parking will be available in marked spaces. If you’re looking for some more spooky fun after Halloweentown, the Brazos Valley Bombers baseball team is hosting its Ballpark BOOfest at Edible Field from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be trick-or-treating, games, and entertainment galore!
Ghost Hunts and More Treats
Don’t miss out on an exciting opportunity at the Carnegie History Center on Tuesday! They’re hosting ghost hunting events; one at 6:30 p.m. for families and another at 8 p.m. just for adults 18 and over. Make sure you register on the library’s website if you want to join in on the ghostly fun!
On Wednesday, there’s another Trunk or Treat event at the Legends Event Center from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.. This one is free for the community, offering games, music, local business booths, food trucks, and bounce houses. If the weather decides to act up, don’t worry; the event will be moved indoors.
Seniors, Eco-Friendly Fun, and Trick-or-Treating
Over in College Station, there are great events for all ages, starting with a Senior Autumn Fest for adults 55 and older on Thursday at the Lincoln Recreation Center from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.. Seniors are invited to dress up in their favorite Halloween costumes and enjoy food, dancing, and prizes!
Then, on Friday from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Wolf Pen Creek, the Texas A&M Forest Service will host an eco-friendly Trunk-or-Tree-t event where you can not only trick-or-treat but also grab some free trees! Just remember, no pets or glass containers are allowed, and free parking will be available at the Post Oak Mall.
Don’t forget about Century Square’s Halloween trick-or-treat event on Sunday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.. Bring your own bucket since candy will be available while supplies last. The day will be packed with games, temporary tattoos, and a live DJ to keep the energy up!
And mark your calendars for Monday, when the College Station Police Department will host Cops & Goblins from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.. Enjoy trunk-or-treating, bounce houses, and hayrides with the chance to mingle with local officers!
Spooky Movie Nights At Home
For those preferring a cozy Halloween, College Station’s Optimum Ch. 19 will air classic spooky movies from October 28-31—perfect for some at-home fun! Gather the family for films like Nosferatu, The Phantom of the Opera, and The Last Man on Earth. You can watch from the comfort of your own home on the channel or through the city’s website.
