Texas is set to honor notable business leaders at the 2018 San Antonio C-Suite Awards, with Trey Embrey, the president and CEO of Embrey Partners, selected as a finalist for his exceptional leadership skills in real estate development. The awards, which recognize top C-level executives in the San Antonio area, highlight a select group of individuals making significant impacts within their organizations.

Embrey has distinguished himself among nine finalists, showcasing remarkable growth in his company. Under his leadership, Embrey Partners has more than quadrupled its workforce, increasing from 60 employees to over 250. The firm has been on an extensive expansion trajectory, launching $1.8 billion in development projects across the country in the past eight years.

The nomination was submitted by Nancy Ozuna, a partner at BKD CPAs and Advisors, who commended Embrey’s leadership approach and his strategic initiatives aimed at diversifying the company’s asset portfolio beyond Texas. Under his guidance, Embrey Partners has facilitated the development or revitalization of tens of thousands of Class-A multifamily units throughout the United States.

Commitment to Community and Industry

Alongside his professional achievements, Embrey is also recognized for his commitment to supporting the construction sector and advocating for ethical service to the residential community. His involvement extends into several influential organizations, including the Urban Land Institute–San Antonio and the National Multi-Family Housing Council. He is a dedicated member of the Real Estate Council of San Antonio.

Embrey’s philanthropic endeavors contribute significantly to the betterment of the community. He plays an active role as a member and benefactor of the Founders Council for the University of Texas at San Antonio’s Embrey Real Estate Finance & Development Program, and he serves on various boards for nonprofit organizations such as SAMMinistries and the Texas Cavaliers Charitable Foundation. He also participates with the Texas Cavaliers, a charitable organization that supports numerous community initiatives.

Background and Legacy

Trey Embrey follows in the footsteps of his father, Walter Embrey, the founder of Embrey Partners. The company, established in 1974, has developed over 39,000 apartment units and constructed more than six million square feet of commercial properties. Currently, Embrey Partners has an impressive portfolio that includes approximately 6,000 units either under construction or in development across various locations.

In recognition of his leadership abilities, Embrey earned a spot on the “40 Under 40” list, which celebrates young professionals who demonstrate exceptional leadership and impact in their respective fields. He attributes much of his success to his executive leadership team and dedicated staff, who bring deep expertise in multifamily markets, development, management, construction, investment, and finance.

A Night to Remember

The 2018 San Antonio C-Suite Awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, September 20, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Pearl Stable, located at 307 Pearl Parkway in San Antonio, Texas.
