COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Texas A&M football fans in College Station now know when the Aggies will line up against South Carolina. The Southeastern Conference set a 2 p.m. Central start for the Aggies’ Nov. 7 visit to Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, the league said Monday.
The Aggies get a breather first. A&M is idle this Saturday after a 31-20 defeat at Alabama, a result that left the team 4-4 overall and 1-4 in league play. The open week gives the staff two weeks to prepare for a road game the program badly needs as it tries to climb out of the next-to-last spot in the SEC standings.
South Carolina will not be resting. The Gamecocks, 4-3 overall and 2-3 in the SEC, travel to Norman this Saturday to face Oklahoma at 3:15 p.m. They come off their best win of the fall, a 27-24 home upset of No. 11 Tennessee.
On paper the series belongs to A&M, which leads it 10-2 and once strung together eight wins in a row from 2014 through 2023. Columbia has been a tougher place lately. The Aggies are 4-2 there overall, but they fell 30-24 on their 2022 visit and 44-20 in 2024. The last A&M victory in that stadium was a 48-3 rout in 2020, and both of South Carolina’s wins in the last four meetings came at home.
The two schools were paired as permanent cross-division rivals when A&M joined the conference in 2012, and the Bonham Trophy was created that year to mark the yearly meeting. For an Aggies team still chasing bowl eligibility, a November win at a place that has given it trouble would carry real weight.
